The 2015 ISSCO regional conference will be held at the Seoul National University (SNU) in Seoul, South Korean, on 29 May 2015. This will be jointly organized with the Seoul National University (China Center of Graduate School of International Studies). Given the increasing global significance of China and East Asia and the roles of the Chinese overseas, the conference will focus on the theme ¡§East Asia and the Chinese Overseas.¡¨ ISSCO members and interested scholars are welcome to submit individual papers or panel proposals. Relevant topics include, for example, the impact of China on the Chinese overseas and their countries; connection between the Chinese overseas and China; Chinese overseas in and from Korea and Japan; Taiwan and the Chinese overseas; Chinese overseas and East Asia.

The upcoming conference "Chinese Diaspora from South to South," which ISSCO jointly organizes with Panama National University, will be held in Panama at Curundu Campus, University of Panama on August 6-9, 2014 (arrive on August 6). The Conference Program Committee is chaired by Prof. Ramon Mon of Universidad Santa Maria La Antigua, Magister Gina Roman, National University of Panama.

The conference marks the 160th Anniversary of the Arrival of the first Chinese immigrants to Panama and the Centennial of the Panama Canal and its widening. It will thus focus on the Chinese in Latin American countries, although papers on other aspects of the Chinese Diaspora are welcome as well, particularly those exploring migrations between developing nations. The conference organizer also invites leaders of Chinese communities to participate in the roundtables on current themes and the life of the Chinese in their respective countries. Conference languages: Chinese, English and Spanish.
